In addition to two contrasting sets of all new work, NYTB will also launch an open mic forum between sets for writers who are interested in sharing their experimental new work. To be considered for the open mic forum, contact Karen Marshall at openmic@nytheatrebarn.org.
Set #1:

Excerpts from SING, BUT DON'T TELL (AN EVENING OF CARNER AND GREGOR)
Lyrics by Sam Carner
Music by Derek Gregor
Featuring Jackie Burns (Hair), Nick Gaswirth & Jeremy Jordan (Rock of Ages, West Side Story)
Irreverent, soulful, and insightful, the songs of Sing, But Don’t Tell explore the many eccentricities of isolation and connection in the modern city. A cabaret of original songs by Carner and Gregor (Unlock’d, NYMF 2007 - "Best In Fest," Talkin' Broadway "Best Original Theatrical Score" and "Best Musical"), Sing, But Don’t Tell combines glorious harmonies and musical comedy with elements of progressive rock to weave together the musical stories of five New Yorkers as they struggle to break habits, get out of ruts, and shed their urban armor. From constantly unique perspectives, the five urbanites do battle against the loneliness of the city through musical theatre, the ultimate form of community. Join NYTB for songs from Carner and Gregor’s sold-out NYMF show.
Set #2:
ROAD SONGS: THE MUSIC OF WILL VAN DYKE
Music & Lyrics by Will Van Dyke
Additional Lyrics by Josh Halloway
Featuring Jason Michael Snow (South Pacific), Josh Lamon (Hair) & Victoria Matlock (Wicked)
New York Theatre Barn presents an evening of hilarious and heartfelt love songs from Will Van Dyke’s time on the road. Van Dyke and Halloway's original works include the musical Pages (CAP21) and Halloway's one man show Girl's I've LIKE Liked (ArsNova). Van Dyke also penned the scores to Where The Blue Grass Grows (La Tea), That Pageant Show (Slightly Askew), Toilus and Cressida (Soho Rep) and We Three Kings (an experimental piece that will be featured in the New Orleans FRINGE festival this November).
