Mission
The
NEW YORK THEATRE
BARN is
committed to creating and developing new, evocative works that are
based on the principle that theatre is a collaborative art form that
can only be successful when the process of the artists involved is
nurtured and supported, and when the artists are encouraged to explore
new ideas and the relevance of old ideas in a modern context, as well
as themes and issues that will influence and effect future generations
of theatre artists and audiences. At the same time, the
NEW YORK THEATRE
BARN will encourage and nurture the development of a diverse
community of artists who share the same ideas and background, and who
will be dedicated to the education and advancement of their fellow
artists and the community they serve.
Goals
The New York Theatre Barn is
dedicated to producing work that is intelligent and creative, and that
will help shape the future of the theatre community. The NYTB hopes to
find projects that push the boundaries of contemporary theatre and
that can be a voice for our generation of artists and audiences alike.
The
NEW YORK THEATRE
BARN is
not only dedicated to the advancement of plays and other projects, but
also the promotion of the success of the individual artist. There are
so many individuals out there who have the ability to have an
extraordinarily positive impact on our community. One of our goals is
to aid those talented artists on their journey, and to help them rise
to a level where they can achieve success.
The
NEW YORK THEATRE
BARN
realizes that we are all part of a larger community, and that we are
all connected. Whether we attended the same school, worked for the
same theatre, know the same people, or share a common goal, we are all
linked to each other. The NYTB is hopeful that we can discover and
promote these connections so we can look towards the future of this
business and this community as a family.
